The three companies — and why none of them owns the patents
Three registered Indian companies develop and commercialise the three technologies. Each has a Corporate Identity Number you can check against the public register in about a minute. None of them owns a patent, and that is deliberate — it is also the first thing a counterparty needs to understand about the structure.
The three
| Company | Technology | CIN |
|---|---|---|
| Rohera Healthcare & Technology Private Limited | eMedica — bioelectronic medical device | U33309PN2020PTC194671 |
| Rohera Emerging Energies Private Limited | Hybrid Power Pack — dual-storage energy system | U29308PN2018PTC178170 |
| Rohera Industries (OPC) Private Limited | OMNIA Drive — vehicle power conditioning | U73100PN2018OPC174240 |
All three are registered in Pune, Maharashtra. I was also a director of Swatantra Power Private Limited from 2012 to 2019.
A CIN is not decoration. Anyone can enter one on the Ministry of Corporate Affairs portal and see the incorporation date, the registered office, the directors and the filing history. That is the point of publishing them: a company that gives you its CIN is inviting the check, and a company that does not is asking you to take its word.
What the CIN itself tells you
The string is structured, and it is worth reading rather than copying. Taking U33309PN2020PTC194671: U means unlisted; 33309 is the industrial activity code; PN is the Pune registrar; 2020 is the year of incorporation; PTC is a private limited company; and the final six digits are the registration number.
Which is why the third entry reads OPC rather than PTC. Rohera Industries is a One Person Company — a form introduced by the Companies Act, 2013 for a single-member private company. It is a real corporate form with limited liability, not a sole proprietorship, and it carries turnover and paid-up-capital thresholds above which it must convert.
The part that matters commercially: the patents are not in any of them
The assignee field on all three granted United States patents reads Individual. The patents are held personally by the named inventor. The companies develop, manufacture and commercialise the technologies; they do not own the intellectual property, and public statements about them should not say they do.
Three consequences follow, and a diligence team will check all three.
The patents are not exposed to the companies. They do not sit on any balance sheet, so nothing that could happen to a company reaches them — no charge, no lien, no creditor claim, no effect from a restructuring.
The chain of title is one link long. There is no employment or contractor agreement to trace, no assignment to verify, no question about whether an employer had rights at conception. The inventor filed, the inventor is the applicant, the inventor holds the grant. The longer version is in the note on chain of title.
A licence and a company are separable. Because the two sit apart, a technology can be licensed without touching a company, and a company can be dealt with without touching a patent. That is a feature for a counterparty who wants one and not the other.
What each company actually does
Rohera Healthcare & Technology develops and manufactures eMedica, under a CDSCO Class A manufacturing licence (MFG/MD/2023/000926, Form MD-5) issued by the Food & Drug Administration, Maharashtra, within an ISO 13485:2016 quality system. The regulatory position, including what that licence does and does not establish, is set out in full on the eMedica questions page.
Rohera Emerging Energies develops the Hybrid Power Pack, the architecture that pairs an electric double-layer capacitor bank with a battery so that transient current is absorbed by the capacitor rather than the cells. It has been environmentally tested by DRDO R&DE(E) and cycle-tested at CIRT — both are test reports, not certifications, and this site never calls them anything else.
Rohera Industries (OPC) develops OMNIA Drive, the vehicle power-conditioning architecture. Its granted position is India, the United States and Japan; outside those three the family is substantially lapsed, and that is stated plainly rather than left for someone to discover.
Where to verify all of this
- Ministry of Corporate Affairs — enter any of the three CINs above for incorporation date, registered office, directors and filings.
- Google Patents and Justia — the assignee field on each grant. Justia carries two inventor pages because the USPTO record holds two spellings of the name: why that is.
- USPTO assignment records — the primary source for title, searchable by patent number.
- The consolidated portfolio position by jurisdiction is on the patent register.
